Why is cleanliness important to the park

We all probably fail to follow all of the guidelines when it comes to maintaining perfect habits for staying in good health. However, even basic ones such as washing your hands before eating and brushing your teeth twice a day are cornerstones of building healthy habits. Once you start to improve or pay more attention to these habits, you may start to notice multiple benefits. Improved confidence could be one benefit. You might also notice that you make friends more easily or do better in your professional life.

Whether you live on your own, with your family, or even with roommates, the surroundings of the space where you live play a large role in wellness. One simple example of this principle is looking at people who tend to hoard possessions. They may have initially been able to keep their area clean although it might still have been fairly cluttered.

However, over time, they quickly found that their mess became out of control. The piles of items were impossible to stay clean and there was dust, dirt, and general clutter. This is an extreme example, but you can find yourself in a slippery slope situation by not keeping an eye on your home and how you maintain the space.

A dirty house is going to make most people shy away from visiting so you may not be able to host friends or family over. You especially want to maintain a healthy environment if you have people in your home who are more prone to illness.

Anyone with a compromised immune system should not spend much time in an unclean home. Keeping your home clean is often easier said than done but the importance of making this a priority cannot be overstated. There are many ways to ensure that you stay on top of your home. For example, you could hire a cleaning crew periodically to help you stay up-to-date. If you live with other people, recruit them to build this schedule, and share the workload. From cleaning their locker regularly to keeping dirt out of their desk, this is an important principle that they should learn and maintain over time.

Teachers and guardians can help to teach and enforce these guidelines. Students should also pay attention to their personal belonging and health cleanliness. Facilities touched up paint and fiberglass every night on third shift, as well.

And operations personnel polished every brass rail in the park several times a day. Those parks used to shine. Now, they don't. Disneyland's now beginning to deal with the aftermath of years of deferred maintenance and reduced cleaning, with major, extended rehabs at Haunted Mansion, the Carousel and other attractions. I visited Knott's Berry Farm for the first time in years this week, and the condition of that park just broke my heart. Streets were swept, but most hadn't been pressure washed in some time.

The exterior of the moon bounce in Camp Snoopy was filthy. And the Peanuts Playhouse featured torn upholstry, cracked walls and peeling linoleum. Who in their right mind lays down linoleum in a theme park? That stuff's gonna break down in two weeks. Spend the extra bucks on tile, and you've bought a couple years of use. Finally, it looked as if the bathroom fixtures throughout the park hadn't been replaced in years. Nightly cleaning can only do so much. With the wear and tear a theme park takes, you've got to be prepared to replace heavily used equipment like bathroom fixtures on much more regular basis than Cedar Fair's doing at Knott's.

That's just two parks I've visited recently. But I can't recall visiting any park in the last three years that's blown me away with the high quality of its upkeep. Not since Islands of Adventure opened. And now even that is beginning to show its age. No, I think today's theme park managers are simply in it for the money. They could be selling cars, soap or crack for it matters.

I can't think of anyone who's in this business for the love of theme parks these days. And that's sad. Not just for us, the theme park fans, but for the stockholders of these companies.

I was at Knotts last August. While in line for the Jaguar, there was litterally trash piled up feet high in the corners of the line's queue.

Also, when leaving the ride there was trash piled up feet along the exit as well. This could have been remedied by park management alone. I won't go into the detail you did because most of what I've got to say only echoes your own thoughts. I see a common failing of all parks. They are just not paying attention to the details anymore.

Like you said, they could be selling soap or cars. It doesn't matter to them. They surgically removed the souls out of the parks. The litter is just one of many by-products of this central failing. What's the root cause? Are these Eisner drones only responding to the drop in the economy by tightening their belts, fiscally? A good explanation on the surface, but it doesn't explain why Knotts for example couldn't buy a few more garbage cans to address these areas of trash buildup.

From Francois Chan Posted April 1, at AM I remember bringing up this issue about the cleanliness of themeparks months ago, but everyone laughed at me saying that the quality of the rides was more important to them than something as trivial as cleanliness I'm sure if you could search archived posts here, you'd see.

So, it's true--the themeparks we love are in a state of entropy. And why not? Although we love new attractions and why shouldn't we? So what should we do? I've mentioned this before--do we continue to bitch and moan amongst each other? As much as misery loves company, it doesn't change anything. So, how do we get our viewpoints out there?
