Meanwhile, Emma might not see her family again. Instead of going to say goodbye, Emma sneaks in to leave them a note on the jukebox. Unfortunately, Nimue Caroline Ford knows as well. She tells Hook that he knows what he must do. Hook tricks Emma by using dark magic to turn himself into Henry Jared S.
He then easily removes Excalibur from her hands, once again gaining control over the powerful weapon. The loss of Excalibur means that Emma is back at square one. She tells them that Hook already got to Emma before she could use her powers to transport them all to the lake. Regina, Robin Hood and Gold are already there, and it appears as if time has run out. However, Emma runs up just in time to say goodbye. But Regina has one more trick up her sleeves. She reminds Hook about a decision he made a long time ago about the man he wants to be.
She wanted to hire Hook to kill her mother. In exchange she would bring Hook to a world without magic so that he could get revenge on the Crocodile.
But, of course, there was a catch. Regina brought Hook to a bar and told him that there was a man inside he needed to kill. Hook told her that it was no problem -- until he learned that the man he needed to kill was his father. And just like Hook, he changed. While Hook had embraced his inner evil, his dad claimed that a woman changed his life.
He cried and apologized to his son, prompting Hook to make a deal with him. His new son was about the same age as Hook when he abandoned him, and it pained the pirate to see his father doting on another child. His father argued that he was just trying to honor Liam and that the name reminded him not to make the same mistakes twice.
Baelfire recognizes this as magic and insists that the Darlings stay away from the shadow. However, when the Shadow does arrive, Wendy cannot stop herself and she goes with the Shadow to a place called Neverland. Wendy returns the next morning, but is upset and tells Bae that the Shadow plans on taking away one of her little brothers. Bae is determined to make sure this doesn't happen, and when the Shadow arrives, Baelfire tells the Shadow to take him away instead.
The Shadow listens and takes Baelfire to Neverland. However, Baelfire escapes the Shadow's grip and falls into the ocean. Before he can be drowned by mermaids , he is saved by a group of pirates, led by a man named Captain Hook.
Baelfire stays on their ship, where he and Hook bond, especially after Hook finds out that Baelfire is Rumplestiltskin's son. However, when Baelfire finds out that Hook was responsible for Bae's mother abandoning him and that Hook wants to kill Rumplestiltskin, he leaves the pirate ship with the Lost Boys.
However, Baelfire is not the boy that Peter Pan is looking for. After a couple of centuries, Baelfire manages to escape Neverland and returns to Earth. He comes up with the alias Neal Cassidy, and grows up to become a thief, which is how he meets a woman named Emma Swan.
Emma and Neal fall in love and plan to retire their life of crime. However, when Neal is confronted by a mysterious stranger named August Booth , he betrays Emma who is arrested and sent to jail.
However, Neal does not know that Emma is pregnant with his child. Neal eventually meets Tamara , and the two become engaged. It is revealed that all of Rumplestiltskin 's actions as the Dark One was so he could travel to Earth and reunite with his son, Baelfire. When the Dark Curse is broken, Rumplestiltskin is now able to find his son. With the unexpected help of Cora , Rumplestiltskin locates his son, who is in Manhattan.
Following up a deal he made with Emma Swan a while back, Emma and Henry go with Rumplestiltskin to Manhattan, where they track down Baelfire. However, to Emma's shock, Baelfire and Neal are the same person and there is one big complicated family reunion as Rumplestiltskin finds out that Henry is his grandson, Neal finds out that he has a son, and Emma finds out that Rumplestiltskin is her father-in-law.
They all return to Storybrooke, and Neal invites his fiancee Tamara to Storybrooke as well, much to Emma's hidden jealousy. Emma begins to suspect that Tamara isn't who she says she is, although nobody believes her and they conclude that Emma is simply jealous. But now I'll never have a chance to take that next step with him because he's gone. My only chance with him is if you don't make the same mistake I do. So what does she do when they get back to the real world?
Chickens out, instead thanking him for sacrificing himself, but not dropping the L-word. Fortunately or unfortunately , she does end up saying it, right before offering herself up as the darkness' skin-bag and asking Killian to save her.
Maleficent doesn't exactly know as the hook-up actually went down when they were in dragon form. Don't you hate it when that happens? So sorry, Henry, your dad Neal can't be resurrected. Still, he has Belle Emilie de Ravin to fight for, who tells him she still wants to be with him. Also, how cute was their baby in the alternate universe?!
